Safely cooled on the road in the hot south of France - Krone Cool Liner with CELSINEO cooling units successfully in long-term test

In order to subject the new generation of modular CELSINEO refrigeration units to a long-term test in warm and hot temperatures, Krone used test vehicles at six customers in the south of France between August 2020 and August 2021. At the companies specializing in distribution and domestic transport, the test was successfully completed with CELSINEO refrigeration units and Krone Cool Liners.

In one case, there was a temporary failure of one of the three modules. The other two modules continued to cool without interruption as planned and maintained the required temperature without any problems. CELSINEO, a joint brand of the Krone and Liebherr companies, distributes the cooling capacity among three identically designed plug-and-play refrigeration modules, each of which contains an independent, hermetically sealed refrigerant circuit with only a few components. Just two modules can reliably maintain the set temperature, so that even if one module fails, a tour can be completed without negative consequences for the load.

Eychenne Transport et Logistique, based in Plaisance-du-Touch in the greater Toulouse area, wanted to keep its Cool Liner with CELSINEO immediately after the test was completed and has purchased another Cool Liner with a CELSINEO unit. Two more Cool Liners with CELSINEO, equipped with the standard telematics as well as a Fair Care maintenance contract, are currently in operation in Spain for other customers.

In the meantime, KRONE service partners in France have been trained for the new CELSINEO cooling technology, so that the market launch can be started this summer as planned.

The CELSINEO modular refrigeration unit is a Krone and Liebherr development and features three refrigeration modules. The modules of CELSINEO can all be controlled individually. This results in more precise control of the temperature in the loading area. Uninterrupted cooling is ensured by simultaneous cooling and defrosting. The system covers numerous application areas, making the overall trailer system even more versatile.
